Jacobs first Halloween

Well Jacobs first Halloween went well, he was an adorable little monkey, my favorite animal! We dressed him up and took pictures and on Halloween night we took him around our neighborhood for some trick or treating, even though he can't have candy yet, mommy and daddy enjoyed it and still are :). His cousins little Shayna and Taylor went trick or treating with him, Taylor was Dorthy from wizard of oz and Shayna was a cute little flower. He was so tired after trick or treating though, he got his bath and went straight to bed.

A few days prior to Halloween we craved a couple pumpkins, Jacob loved playing in the gooey filling of the pumpkin and loved chewing on the top part of the pumpkin even more! We had a really good time with it.

A new milestone for Jacob that he started almost two weeks ago....clapping! I absolutely love it, he loves to clap and its the cutest thing ever. Crawling is a no issue for him anymore, he crawls so fast that he is completely across the other side of the house in 20 seconds. He is pulling up on everything and cruising along furniture, I am guessing by his first birthday he might be taking some of his first steps, we shall see, I am in no hurry!

We're already planning his first birthday, I can't believe it, his first birthday! I am thinking about a winter themed birthday; snowflakes, icicles, snowmen, etc as the decorations and a snowman cake since his birthday is in the middle of winter. I wanted to be a little different from the typical birthday themes like character themes, so we'll see if I stick with the winter theme, winter is my favorite season by a mile! Thats why I got married in January and how convenient that I had my first baby in January.

Well I'll leave this post as I leave all my posts.....more pictures! Here are a lot of pictures from Halloween...enjoy!

Our cruise to Cozumel

Its been awhile since I've updated my blog, things seem so busy lately. We went on our long awaited cruise on Oct 16th for 4 days. For at least a month and a half before the cruise I kept dreading having to leave my baby boy for 4 days, I knew it was going to be difficult on me. We took him to James mothers on Oct 15th and stayed the night there and woke up early Thursday morning, I never dreamed it would be so difficult to leave. James and I went into the room where he was sleeping and sobbed, I have never seen so much emotion from James, we love our little guy so much and thought about him the entire time, next cruise, we'll definitely be taking him along.

Well the cruise itself was pretty fun, the food was fabulous, we had three course lunches and dinners each day and huge breakfast buffets, along with 24 hour room service, ice cream, pizza, and juices, it was so nice just to eat whatever and not pay (of course its all pre-paid months in advance). I know I had to have gained 3 or 4 pounds, I won't be stepping on the scale for a couple more weeks. I wasn't into all the partying going on, on the cruise, their was a lot of drinking, smoking, gambling, etc...all stuff that I am not into. We enjoyed the shows and watching the water. Our day on the island of Cozumel was rainy and overcast all day, we still tried to make the most of it, its a beautiful place and I wish I could have seen it on a pretty sunny day. I loved the formal night on the cruise where we got to dress up all fancy, that was probably my favorite night. Our next cruise will either be a Christian Music Boat cruise or a Disney cruise, I know Jacob would really enjoy the latter, we're thinking of going again in 2010.

Jacob is growing so much, he is an expert crawler, he scooted for the longest time but the last couple weeks he's been crawling on his hands and knees and hates to be confined anywhere now that he knows how to get around. He is pulling up on anything and everything, including my legs. He is cruising as well and just growing up too fast! He has been teething something fierce lately and has been really cranky, he has his 9 month check up this Wed so I am curious to see how much he's grown.

As I always end my posts, here are many pictures from our cruise and some newer pictures of Jacob and a video of him enjoying some of his first finger foods, until next time...............
