The 4th of July

Well we had a decent 4th of July but unfortunately Jacob was sort of sick, he woke up Saturday morning with a horrible croup cough, I could tell he was coming down with something on Friday. I feel so bad for him, he is coughing a lot and has that raspy breathing sound, I can totally relate growing up with asthma and feel pretty helpless. Despite having croup, he still acted fairly normal most of the day. We usually have a big cook out on the 4th but this year everyone wanted to take it easy so we ordered 3 giant sheet pizza's for an awesome pizza place, we they completely messed our order up and we had to return the pizza's but we get our next order (up to $50) free.

I decided I really wanted to try my Nikon D90 out in a more professional way by getting lots of pictures of the family members who were there for the 4th, I had fun and took the advice of a lot of professional photographers to shoot in the hours between 7:30pm and 9:00pm, when the sun is starting to set, it was a great tip because the colors came out beautifully. The kids were not to keen on all the pictures I wanted to get of them, some of them started getting pretty fussy but with singing a little "if your happy and you know it" and "old mcdonnald" we got through it.

Jacob was definitely not too fond of the fireworks, the loud noise of them really scared him so he was able to participate for about 15 minutes as I plugged his ears but after that he just got too cranky so I had to bring him inside with my mom.

We ended the night by putting 3 of the babies together in the bath, my 14 month old niece Shayna, my 5 month old nephew Landon, and Jacob, it was pretty cute but they were all tired and cranky and not enjoying the bath together too much. He's growing up so fast

My little baby is growing up so fast, I look at him each day and he just seems to be growing before my eyes, my little baby doesn't look so much like a baby anymore, he looks like a toddler. He is such a little ham and makes the funniest giggles and sounds, he is now saying mama, dada, wawa, duck, papa, poop (lol), bird, and his new favorite saying is "whats that"? And pointing at everything. He is running and tripping and banging his poor little head on everything, I worry everyday that he is going to get hurt but I know its all part of growing up. I just can't believe he is almost 17 months, where has the time gone?

We are currently trying to add to the clan with a little brother or sister for Jacob and while life is great right now, Jacob is a wonderful little late sleeper, he sleeps 11-12 hours at night and I love it and don't miss the crazy days of 3 hour sleep nights when he was little, we will be going through it all over again but I might as well do it while I am still young...I am really hoping for a little girl since I never had a sister and only three brothers but any baby is a complete blessing and whatever the Lord has for us next I will be completely thrilled.

Jacob also got his first haircut right before our vacation, its so wild it already needs to be cut again! We went to six flags a couple weeks ago during the week, Jacob loved the little water park and riding the kiddie rides.

We had a really busy month in May, we had one of my brothers birthday's, mother's day, my mom's birthday, my sis in law's birthday, our close family friends birthday, and our Destin vacation, May is always a busy month for us. This month has been less busy but we still have father's day coming up and just celebrated my dads birthday. I can't really post what Jacob and I have planned for daddy in case he reads this but our next post will be about father's day, until then, here is more random pictures over the past month.
