Jacob helping decorate the tree for the first time

Well a few weeks ago we put our Christmas tree up and I had a great little helper this year. Jacob helped put some balls on and he enjoyed grabbing the tree branches, but surprisingly he hasn't messed with it like I thought he would, I let him crawl all over the house and he rarely ever goes over to the tree to mess with it and he is starting to learn our stern voices when we try to redirect him from something he isn't supposed to be doing, he'll sit up, stare, and go the other way.

Our plans for Christmas...well typically we go see James side of the family the day before Christmas eve, stay the night and celebrate with a homemade shrimp dinner, opening gifts, and having a good time on Christmas eve, we then head back home Christmas eve night and basically come in and go to bed, then we celebrate Christmas day with my side of the family, opening gifts Christmas morning and having Christmas dinner that night. Well this year James mom has to work Christmas eve so it will be switched up a bit, we'll be here with my family for Christmas eve and day and will be heading down to see James family the day after Christmas, on Friday the 26th. We will stay over until Saturday and head back home that evening as we have important things going on at church the following morning. I am excited to be celebrating Jacob's first Christmas, he doesn't know whats going on but I plan to take lots of pictures and I am sure he'll be overloaded with lots of toys that I have no clue where to put.

We're having a Christmas party at our house this Friday night, we're inviting some of our closest friends from church and plan to have a steak dinner, James cooks the best steaks ever! I plan to make fresh broccoli, a pineapple caserole, and a new york pumpkin cheesecake, our friends are bringing a couple dishes as well and we invited our newlywed friends to stay the night so I am really looking forward to it.

Here are some pictures of our family decorating the Christmas tree...thats all for now....

Jacob had his first Thanksgiving

Well Jacob had his first Thanksgiving and all went well. We drove down to Sandersville to my mother in laws on Wed evening and stayed the night. Thursday afternoon we had a huge Thanksgiving lunch at James grandma's who is 81 years old and still cooking her huge feast, that lady amazes me! After enjoying lunch and fellow shipping with James family we headed back to Mableton around 3:00pm to make it to my mothers around 5:30pm for Thankgiving dinner, thats right, we had to eat twice! I tried hard not to eat too much at James grandma's but her red velvet cake, chocolate cake, and many other desserts to choose from were irresistible! I don't care to know how many pounds I gained that day, I tried to just enjoy this special Thanksgiving which was my little boys first. Jacob enjoyed all the foods that we had beside the desserts. He had a little turkey, corn, mashed potatoes, dumplings, green beans, sweet potatoes, corn cruffle, dressing, pineapple caserole, and rolls! He was loving it and he was stuffed after a long day of eating.

I was so thankful for all the blessings the Lord has blessed me with on that day of Thanksgiving. I am thankful for my wonderful husband, no matter what difficult times come our way, we stick together through it all and have a love for each other that will never end. I am thankful for my wonderful son whom I desired for many years before the Lord decided it was time to bless us with him, I love him more then words can say and I'll never forget what a miracle he truly is. I am thankful for my family, I wouldn't be the person I am without them, I am thankful that I got to be with each and every one of them for this special holiday. I am thankful for my friends, though I didn't get to spend this special day with them, they were on my heart and I am thankful to have them in my life. I am thankful for all the necessities that I am provided in life, a nice vehicle, home, food, clothes...things people might take for granted, I am just so blessed and thankful for it all, though I might forget to thank the Lord for it all on a daily basis.

I have some pictures to share from Thanksgiving but I have not uploaded them yet, so I will be sure to post them within the next couple days once their uploaded...God Bless!

Jacobs first Halloween

Well Jacobs first Halloween went well, he was an adorable little monkey, my favorite animal! We dressed him up and took pictures and on Halloween night we took him around our neighborhood for some trick or treating, even though he can't have candy yet, mommy and daddy enjoyed it and still are :). His cousins little Shayna and Taylor went trick or treating with him, Taylor was Dorthy from wizard of oz and Shayna was a cute little flower. He was so tired after trick or treating though, he got his bath and went straight to bed.

A few days prior to Halloween we craved a couple pumpkins, Jacob loved playing in the gooey filling of the pumpkin and loved chewing on the top part of the pumpkin even more! We had a really good time with it.

A new milestone for Jacob that he started almost two weeks ago....clapping! I absolutely love it, he loves to clap and its the cutest thing ever. Crawling is a no issue for him anymore, he crawls so fast that he is completely across the other side of the house in 20 seconds. He is pulling up on everything and cruising along furniture, I am guessing by his first birthday he might be taking some of his first steps, we shall see, I am in no hurry!

We're already planning his first birthday, I can't believe it, his first birthday! I am thinking about a winter themed birthday; snowflakes, icicles, snowmen, etc as the decorations and a snowman cake since his birthday is in the middle of winter. I wanted to be a little different from the typical birthday themes like character themes, so we'll see if I stick with the winter theme, winter is my favorite season by a mile! Thats why I got married in January and how convenient that I had my first baby in January.

Well I'll leave this post as I leave all my posts.....more pictures! Here are a lot of pictures from Halloween...enjoy!
