Jacob is 5 months

Jacob just turned 5 months last Wed, I can't believe my little boy is 5 months, time sure is flying and I feel as though I am going to miss something along the way. Jacob has a new favorite thing, blowing rasberries, its the cutest thing. Tonight James was making a chomping sound with his mouth, opening and shutting it and Jacob mocked him, soo cute, I am now saying mama to him all the time in hopes of hearing that first "mama".

I am noticing that Jacob is one that likes to be constantly entertained, he only stays interested in something for so long and than he is bored, so we're looking for a great, entertaining new toy for him, something that makes lots of noises and music, he loves that kind of stuff. He is a very active fella, always kicking his legs, squirming out of his carseat, bouncer, etc...you can't leave him for a second or you'll turn around with him out of whatever he was put him, he recently got a bumbo seat and has nearly gotten out of that several times.

Well, here is a few recent pictures of my baby, and some with him and I and daddy, along with a few from when he was younger at the bottom.....blessings.

Good fathers day

We had a great fathers day, the breakfast went as planned, I cooked James bacon, eggs, sausage, grits, pancakes, and coffee and brought it to him in bed, he seemed to like it as I brought Jacob in hanging on my chest in his carrier and informed James that he helped me cook :) . James loved the little foot plaque and took it to work with him, it was a lovely first fathers day and I took a couple pictures to help us remember the day.

Many sleepless nights

Well last night was one of those sleepless nights, I sure do wish I knew baby talk. Jacob went to bed around 11pm and awoke at 3am, and everything went down hill from there, constant waking, grunting, acting like he had gas. I started him on baby food about 3 weeks ago and have noticed a huge increase in gas since I started, he acted very ready for solids, watching us eat and opening wide when a spoon of baby food approached him. I read online that if you start your baby on solids before 6 months that it can cause tummy irritation or gas, so I am at loss if I should stop or not.

We bought Jacob a new baby bed called an Amby Hammock www.ambybaby.com about 3 weeks ago . He seemed to start sleeping better almost instantly when we started sleeping him in it, but unfortunately the last few nights not even the Amby helped aid our little guy in sleeping well.

Fathers day is tomorrow, it will be James first fathers day, I have planned to surprise James with a full course breakfast, I was hoping to serve it to him in bed but that probably won't work since Jacob is still sleeping in our room. I plan to cook bacon, sausage, eggs, grits, and pancakes. I also made a little foot print plaque that has a sweet saying about walking in daddy's foot steps, I am sure he'll like it.

I will leave you when some pictures of when Jacob first arrived in the world.

Just born, January 25th, 2008 at 2:54pm weighing 7lbs 3ozs and 21 inches long, Jacob John Giles.

My first post

I have been meaning to start a blog for awhile now and recently seen a few friends start one so I figured I better jump in and start one. I wish I would have started one from my sons birth up until now but I will be posting many pictures from birth until recent.

Our little family consists of my husband James, myself, and our first born child, our son Jacob who was born January 25th, 2008. I am loving motherhood, though at times it isn't always easy, I feel so incredibly blessed to have been chosen to be this little ones mother. In the next few posts you'll see many pictures from when I was expecting Jacob until the time he came into this world.

Here is my husband and I a few months before we found out we were expecting our little one. (December 27th, 2006)
